Lexington Destination Imagination Teaches Creativity and Problem Solving for Kids
Destination Imagination (DI) is a program that teaches STEM principles as well as performing arts to K-12 students through creative and collaborative problem solving challenges. Team members work together to develop a solution to one of 7 new project based challenges each year and present their solutions at a tournament in March. Through the challenges, students learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation and learn skills needed to succeed in school, career and life, including teamwork, communication, project management, perseverance, creative and critical thinking, and self-confidence. The interesting and challenging part is that only students can provide solutions! Any adult advice or help is considered "interference" and is against the rules. This is so that children are empowered to find a solution through their own creativity and collaboration.
