Q: How do I sign/register up my child? A: If sign up is open, the link to registration form will be provided on the main home page. Registration for the season opens in June-July and closes in November.
Q: How do I sign up for a particular challenge (e.g. Engineering)? A: You don’t. Most teams choose their challenge as a group, so your child may not get his/her first choice. That said, if you manage a team and form it around a particular challenge, you will have more control.
Q: Can non-Lexington residents participate? A: Yes!
Q: What is the fee structure? Registration fee is $125. An additional $25 per child would be collected by the team manages for the material. This material cost is one time for the season. This brings the total cost to $150 per child.
Q: Are there any other fees? A: On rare occasions, the teams may use up lots of materials and need another $25, but I don't remember the last time that happened.
Q: How do I pay? A: Fill out the Registration Form. In 2019, we have two options to pay the registration fee ($125) either online or by mailing the check. Follow this link in the registration form to pay on-line and place your child's name in the Order Note. If you wish to mail a check to Lexington Community Education, 146 Maple Street, Lexington, MA 02420. Make your check payable to Lexington Community Education and in the memo put your child's name and the words "Destination Imagination."
Q: When are the team meetings? A: When you sign up, you indicate your preference to meet. The options are Sat AM, Sat PM, Sun AM, Sun PM. This is one of the criteria used to group the teams.
Q: About how many kids do this in Lexington? A: We have about ~150 kids participate in the 2019-2020 season.
